2-Hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid (English Version)
GB/T 23671—2023 is a comprehensive revision of the original standard GB/T 23671—2009, mainly optimizing the quality requirements, test methods and production specifications of 2-Hydroxy-6-Naphthoic Acid. This revision adds terms and definitions, and updates a number of technical indicators to meet the new needs of industry development.
Items | Requirements of the 2009 version | Updates to the 2023 version |
---|---|---|
Quality requirements | Purity ≥ 99%, ash ≤ 0.1% | Purity increased to ≥ 99.6% (superior quality), new metal content limit |
Detection method | Only arbitration method | Introduction of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and improved melting point determination method |
Packaging requirements | No clear requirements | New moisture-proof and light-proof packaging specifications |
Purity and impurity control: The 2023 version of the standard significantly increases the purity requirements for 2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid, with the top-grade product reaching ≥99.6%. At the same time, it strictly limits the content of major impurities such as 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid and 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid.
The new standard introduces high-performance reversed-phase liquid chromatography, uses octadecyl bonded column as the separation medium, and optimizes the mobile phase ratio and detection wavelength. This method not only improves the detection sensitivity, but also shortens the analysis time.
The new standard adds limits for metal elements such as iron, potassium, and sodium. A production enterprise has significantly improved product quality by improving the production process and reducing the iron content from 50mg/kg to 10mg/kg.
