- This document specifies methods for sampling insulating liquids, including transport containers and electrical equipment [such as power transformers, transformers, reactors, bushings, oil-filled cables, oil-filled tank capacitors, switchgear and on-load tap-changers (LTCs )] Sampling methods for insulating liquids. This document applies to mineral oils and non-mineral oils (such as synthetic esters, natural esters or silicone oils) with a viscosity less than 1500 mm2/s (or cSt) at the sampling temperature.
