Scope
The "Technical Standards for Geotechnical Engineering of Tailings Heap Dams" is now approved as a national standard, numbered GB/T50547-2022, and will come into force on December 1, 2022. The original national standard "Technical Code for Geotechnical Engineering of Tailings Heap Dam" (GB50547-2010) will be abolished at the same time. This standard is published on the website of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (www.mohurd.gov.cn), and is published by China Planning Publishing House Co., Ltd. organized by the Institute of Standards and Quotas of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Key Technical Points

1. Seepage calculation and analysis: The effect of the effectiveness of drainage facilities on the infiltration line needs to be considered, and the selection of 2D/3D models depends on the dam grade (Engineering dam is mandatory for 3D analysis). The permeability coefficient needs to be determined through on-site pumping tests and indoor vertical/horizontal permeability tests.

2. Stability evaluation: The simplified Bishop method (safety factor ≥ 1.5) is combined with the strength reduction method. Under earthquake conditions, the 7-degree intensity area needs to be subjected to pseudo-static method and time history analysis, and the parameter selection refers to the CU/CD test results in Table 8.1.5.


Implementation suggestions

  • Exploration layout: the spacing between main exploration lines is ≤150m, the proportion of controlled drilling holes is ≥50%, and the potential sliding surface is penetrated
  • In-situ testing: static penetration (20mm/s uniform penetration), cross-plate shear (spacing between soft clay layers is 1.0m)
  • Hazard control: a combination of filter layer + slope pressure body is used for pipe bursts, and gravel pile reinforcement is preferred in liquefaction areas
