Scope
This document specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of roller skates. This document applies to roller skates for people weighing more than 20kg and less than 100kg. This document does not apply to roller skates for children whose weight does not exceed 20kg.
Introduction

Background of Standard Revision and Core Changes

GB/T20096-2021 replaces the 2006 version of the standard. The main technical upgrades are reflected in:

Revision dimensions Requirements of the 2006 version Changes in the 2021 version Technical significance
Classification system Weight classification is not clear New A/B classification (20-100kg/20-60kg) Mechanical performance requirements for people of different weights
Safety indicators Ground clearance requirements without brakes Single-row 7-17mm/Double-row ≥10mm Optimize braking effectiveness while preventing scratches
Harmful substances No limit value for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is specified 16 new PAHs are regulated (Class I ≤10mg/kg) Prevent carcinogenic risks of plastic components

Analysis of key technical requirements

1. Structural safety

Increased energy of vertical impact test: Class A for single-row reaches 135J (unclassified in the 2006 version), corresponding to an impact speed of 4.5m/s, to verify the deformation resistance of the wheel frame.

2. Environmental friendliness of materials

  • Formaldehyde content: Direct contact materials ≤75mg/kg (water extraction method)
  • Azo dyes: Textiles ≤20mg/kg, leather ≤30mg/kg
  • Newly added separate limit for benzo[a]pyrene (≤1mg/kg)

3. Performance test method

The wheel wear rate test uses P80 sandpaper with an inclination angle of 9°. The wear rate of Class A under a load of 40kg in 5 minutes is ≤8%, which is a more relaxed requirement than Class B (≤5%).

Implementation suggestions

Production enterprise response measures

  1. Update design specifications: Recalibrate product load parameters according to Class A/B
  2. Supply chain control: Establish a traceability system for hazardous substances (PAHs/formaldehyde)
  3. Testing equipment configuration: Shaw A-type hardness tester, friction testing machine, etc. are required

Key points of quality verification

Type inspection should focus on:
① Deformation of wheel frame after impact ② Impact resistance of brake ③ Color fastness of lining (≥Grade 3)
